Hello,

Your husband fell on a sharp object and hurt his leg, his muscle tissue was injured but the then treating doctor did not give him any stitches. Presently, the wound is painful and discolored from the middle of the lower leg down. It seems like the wound has not healed yet. He should protect it from any kind of infection. He should take care of his hygiene.

The wound should be gently cleaned on alternate days by a health care provider or a technician. After that antiseptic dressing should be done. He can apply ointment Soframycin to protect the wound from infection. He can apply ointment Thrombophob to reduce any blood clots under the skin that are causing the discoloration.

He should take a course of antibiotic like Augmentin for better and faster recovery. Yes, nerve can be affected. He can take Nervup OD, once daily (for 10 days) for nerve repair. Nerve damage may cause tingling, numbness, burning sensation associated with pain. He can take naproxen or Combiflam, one SOS when pain after food to get relieve and to reduce inflammation if any. He is suggested to get clinically examined in the ER, if nerve problem is detected he will be referred to a Neurologist for further treatment and management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
