I have had a raspy/sore throat pretty consistantly for the last 9 months or so. For the last month I have felt a lump-type feeling in my throat on the right sid when I swallow. I can feel it also when I press on it from the outside and swallow. I am on Thyroid med....Levo. and my entire family has a history of Thyroid condition. My Grandma died at the age of 76 of Thyroid cancer. Oh, I also, have Lupus... I am 61, 5 7 and I weigh 120 pounds.
The best way you find is to get an endoscopy of the larynx done to see the inside of the larynx or voice box. You can get a good picture if there is any infection or any lesion in the larynx.
The other thing is to get an ultrasonography of the neck to find if there is anything in the throat present or not.
By these two tests, you can find if there is anything in the neck causing lump sensation in the throat.
Most of the time acid reflux from the stomach can result in similar limp sensation. So take less coffee, tea, spicy food. Drink more water. Sleep after two hours of dinner.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
