What Causes Pain And Fluid In Ears?

hi, I have been to my primary doctor once every month all year for lots of fluid in my ears and prescribe anti- biotics and steroids. Then I got sick again and he told me he was going to send me to nose, throat, and ear doctor. So I went last week he thinks it is t.m.j. syndrome and I need new dentures, but he wants to do a cat scan next week to make sure. I feel like I am talking in a tunnel and I am dizzie even when I am sitting. It feel like the barameteric pressure with rain coming makes the aggravating ear pressure worse. Thanks

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

This all symptoms are due to otitis media or upper respiratory infection or sinusitis etc.

It is mostly due to viral infection (EB virus, adenovirus, influenza virus etc) or bacterial infection (streptococcus, staphylococcus etc) or may be parasitic infection.

If he has negative streptococcus test then it could be due to viral infection.

He might require detailed history taking and thoroughly clinical-ENT examination by a specialist.

He should be given antibiotics (macrolides or quinolones) to prevent superinfection and antipyretics with anti-allergic for full course treatment.

So,better you consult ENT surgeon immediately.
