Hi. My left eye is infected, I believe.

Green puss comes out from the corner of the eye and I woke up at 4AM because my eye was hurting so badly. When I woke up, I had to force my eye open as it felt glue shut. I got up and washed it with clean water, but it still hurts. My eye is all red, it hurts very bad. It feels like my eye and eye lids are strained of sorts.

My vision is fine, though. A lot of websites I'm looking at says a common symptom would be losing vision, color changes in the environment, spots of blur in the vision, etc. My eye can see fine (besides the fact I wear glasses.) and the only blurness I really see is when the puss is in my eye and it's building up over my eye. I clean it out and it's fine again.

May I ask what causes this, should I be worried and what's some common treatments I can look into? I plan to see my doctor soon but would like to get some information on it.
