What Causes Pain And Inability To Bend Right Thumb?
Have been unable to bend my right thumb for quite sometime also noticed when i bent it it clicked and was really painful now i have the same problem with my left thumb and recently my hands have become very stiff and sore especially in the morning when i waken, i can t seem to straighten them , i have colitis wich can affect the joints but now think i might have athritis what do you think ?
It is true that colitis can be associated with sero-negative arthritis. The pain you are describing is that related to the carpo-metacarpal joint of the thumb.
I would suggest a course of Analgesics such as Non-steroidal anti-imflammatories as well as night splints for your thumbs. I would do a full blood work up to exclude other imflammatory arthritides such as rheumatoid/lupus etc.
