What Causes Pain And Shrinking In Size Of Left Testicle?
Hi I m a 17 year old male and my left testicle has shrunk in the past few days I noticed but has not shrunk more. I do regular monthly self-checks on my testicles to test for cancer and there has never been a problem until now. I recently started masturbating more and more where it got to be about 5-6 days a week sometimes more than once a day. I have been reading up and I want to know if my condition is due to over masturbation. I have some pain in my left testicle if I touch it too much. It is around the vas deferens area but on the the testicle itself. I have also been hit extremely hard a few times over the past 3 weeks or so in the testicles and was also wondering if it could be from injury like this. Please help
Hi. Thanks for your query. The causes of the shrinkage of the left testicle can be : Post-traumatic, meaning after the trauma there is initial swelling and bleeding inside the testis and with time this testis get shrunk. Reduced blood supply.
I would advise the following in such a case: Color doppler and ultrasonography of the abdomen and the scrotum to know the exact shrinkage that has occurred. Clinical evaluation and physical examination by an Urologist can give you the decision for further treatment.
