What Causes Pain And Swelling In Hand?

My daughter is having pain in her right hand, which is her non-dominant hand. It is slightly swollen but she has a lot of pain if you touch it on the top middle area of her hand. It hurts to make a fist but she moves her fingers fine and her wrist fine. Should I take her in?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a contusion or sprain.

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
