What Causes Pain And Swelling In Injection Site?

I am 35, 5'6", 200. I had a catheterization done wednesday, i am having severe pain at the incision site, no redness, very little swelling. This is my 5th in 2 yrs. Could the pain just be from so much scar tissue. I have never been in this kind of pain afterwards.
