What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Feet Along With Dizziness?

My husband is 67 yrs of age & was prescribed blood pressure medicines, Amlodipine & Hyzaar about 12 yrs ago. He was having issues breathing after a visit to Denver in the high altitudes, lives in Louisiana. Please note: he has never been diagnosed with high blood pressure, was prescribed the 2 because of the high altitude issue he had in Denver, CO. Since then he has lost approximately 45 lbs, now experiences a few of the side effects listed on these meds for about 6 months now. Issues: leg cramps, feet swelling, dizziness, lightheaded.Could these symptoms be because of his weight loss? an he stop taking these 2 meds? For the record, he has consulted his primary regarding these issues, only to be directed to another doctor or prescribed another medication.
