What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Knee?

I had of orthovisc injections in both knees and after the third shot i have been experiencing swelling, pain and weakness in my right knee. This was the better of my two knees. I have arthritis in both knees and these injections have helped in the past. Something went radically wrong in this knee after the third shot. I have seem two orthopedist in the same practice that administered the shot. They have done both xrays and an mRI and so far the best they have offered me is there is a chance that this will improve in time. It has been over a month and I am at a loss where to turn for help as it seems to be worsening.

Hello,

Pain and swelling in joining after injection may be due to infection like septic arthritis or allergic reaction to orthovisc injection. Use cold and warm compression, use tablet. Naproxen twice a day for five days.
If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Regards,
