What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Knees?

my father inlaw has a pacemaker and is 81. His knee is swelling up and hurts to be touched. He can not walk, because it hurt so much he is on these medications, I don t not know the dose. Xarelto, Omeprazole, Atorvastatin, Metoprolol succinate, lisinopil, furosemide, indomethacin, sulfamethoxazol/trimethoprim, hydrocodone, simthicone. he is also being treated for type 2 diabetes, I think he is not being treated because he is on two high blood pressure pills.
