I am a 39 yearold male. I recently had an emergency appendectomy less than a week ago maybe 6 days ago. Was released from the hospital 3 days later and sent home. Have been home now for a couple days and recently noticed that my penis is swollen and there is pain not on it but above it. the pain has been there since the surgery but I didn t notice the swelling the penis doesn t hurt in the spot of the swelling but I am concerned whether or not this is normal? thank you.

Hi,

It can bed to injury caused by the urinary catheters when they insert in penis before surgery/anesthesia.

You need to see your surgeon and get it examined as early as possible. till then you can have painkillers which can reduce pain and swelling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
