two part question my boyfriend has been complaining about pain and tenderness in his left testicle for about a week. before the pain became significantly noticeable, he was describing the discomfort as if it feels like his nut is sliding up into his body . Whatever that means...1.) Could this be symptomatic of some heath concern?2.) He also says he s worried that its his left testicle because that s the important one. I think he s crazy and both testicles function the same. Is there any truth to one being more important than the other?
Hi. Thanks for your query for your boyfriend. The cause of the pain can be epididymitis, orchitis or both. Another reasons are varicocele, torsion and so on. This can be diagnosed by ultrasound and color Doppler Tests of semen, urine and blood. And conical examination by an Urologist. He is partially correct in saying that left testis is important as far as disease is concerned. Varicocele is common on left. But as you rightly say, both are equally important as far as functions are concerned.
