Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Fact: I had colonoscopy and endoscopy done and same day I had mild pain in the RHS of my hip. Next day sudden I experienced a strong lower back pain with incapability to walk well or bend, and 24 hours later still strong lower back pain. Could this pain be related to the colonoscopy procedure? if so, how?
hi Depending on whether spinal anesthesia was used for colonoscopy, the pain may be due to spinal needle, if not then lower back and hip pain may be seperate entity. colonoscopy itself cannot cause back or hip pain as the scope goes in bowels only and doesnt touch spine or hip. Take tramadol and use hot fomenation/application of muscle relaxant/anti-inflammatory cream or gel like diclofenac(volini or voltaren gel)
