What Causes Pain At Stitches Site After Delivery?

I have stiches after having my baby 4 weeks ago tomorrow to be exact and i just noticed some sharp pain down there when i wiped after the bathroom or sat down so i went and looked and realized that there is a long white string hanging and when i lightly tug on it, it hurts really bad... should this be happening?

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. The white string is the suture which might have been used to stitch the episiotomy site after delivery. Tugging on it will definitely cause severe pain. However, if there is severe pain, you should get yourself examined by your doctor to rule out any episiotomy site hematoma, which is an emergency condition.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
