What Causes Pain Below Shoulder Blade Near Armpit?

Lately, say in the past year, Ive been experiencing this really dull uncomfortable slightly throbbing ache right below my shoulder blade next to my armpit (always the same place). It occurs every once in a while and it makes me quizzical as to what it is and what could be causing it. Do you have any suggestions?
