What Causes Pain During Intercourse Post Child Birth?
Hi, Since giving birth to my son when my partner has sex with me it feels as though the opening of my vagina is pulling real bad. It hurts quite a bit for about 3minutes and then stops but it sore the following day (its more the skin around the opening) Also Since having my child when my partner penetrates deep inside of me I get a sharp pain on the left hand side which to me feels like it is just behind the top of my pubic bone. This never used to happen before! What could this be?
Hello, Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. I have gone through your query and would like to offer some suggestions. If you had a vaginal delivery with an episiotomy, perhaps the vaginal orifice had been narrowed and this is causing the soreness and difficult intercourse. A proper clinical evaluation, dilatation or repair usually solve the problem. The cause of pain during deep penetration should be evaluated further by an expert. A possible cyst of the ovary, an adhesion or a prolapsed ovary are the more likely causes. Hope your query has been answered. Wish you good health.
