What Causes Pain During Sex While On Mirena Coil?

Hi, i had a mirena coil fitted in 2010 and have noticed that i get pain during sex, also i had virtually no periods until the last few months and they have been long lasting but are black and thick, not like i used to have. they are also closer together. is this a problem or just hormones/the coil?

Irregyular bleeding is experienced by some people using mirena.
If it is becoming too much discomfort for you than you can remove it.
Mirena life span is 5 years.
