Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain During Urination And Lower Abdomen Pain After Soda Consumption?
I'm 25 overweight female. Normally I drink water and unsweetend tea but every now and then I will drink soda. Usually if I drink too much I have painful urination and pain in the lower abdomen. I can usually drink a lot of water and or cranberry juice [sometimes taking azo] and it will go away but I was just curious why does this happen? Is it something to be concerned about?
The most possible issue here is pH alteration of urine from excess soda ingestion. Nothing specific, but it is advisable to avoid certain quantity beyond one point of tolerance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
