What Causes Pain During Urination And Pink Discharge?

Hi, It started about two days ago: I was going to the bathroom and i was peeing normally until the very end. It hurt really bad at my 'down there' it was throbbing and there was a little pinkish stuff too. The pain was unbearable. I am very clean and I am a virgin. I have read it might be a UTI but I'm not sure. Also what should I do if I am embarrassed to go to my doctor about this?

Hello and thank you for asking Healthcaremagic.

I am Dr.Endri Katro and I will be answering at your questions.

The symptoms that you describe correlate with an urinary tract infection.

To confirm this diagnose, you need to do an urine test. You can do it even at home.It is called a dip stick urine test. Depending from the results you might need a prescriptions of antibiotics (ex fluorquinolones).

Meanwhile here are some tips to help your body to recover faster:
-have plenty of fluids 2-3 liters each day
-fresh fruit and vegetables
-don't hold your urine for long
-1 or 2 cups of chamomile tea or rose tea

If you have any other question, feel free to contact me.
