What Causes Pain From Shoulder Down To Spine When Suffering From Pneumonia?
I am a 55 year old female, status-post double lobe pneumonia. Released to return to work 6 days ago. I am now having right sided moderate pain from my arm/shoulder down to my spine. It feels tingly. I had right lower spine pain with my pneumonia but it now appears to be worse with additional symptoms as stated above.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your situation and problem. Pneumonia causes pleurisy (inflammation of pleura). This is the cause for pain in pneumonia patients. Since you are having worsening of pain with worsening of other symptoms, we need to rule out worsening of pneumonia. So better to get done repeat chest x ray and compare it with your previous x ray. If it shows worsening of pneumonia than you may need higher antibiotics. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
