What Causes Pain In Abdomen Radiating To The Back?

Yesterday at approximately 5:00pm I started feeling gassy (I had only had a Fiber One bar all day), it kept getting worse and by 7:00 I was in extreme pain. The pain had started in the abdominal area but had quickly moved to the back as well, at the time it was so bad, I couldn't really determine where but it felt like upper back, more centrailized than on one side. I had taken some Gas-x when it first started but that wasn't working. At around 8:30 I took some Tums, it eventually subsided a little, enough to where I could get to sleep. When I woke this morning I got my bottle of water and within a approximately 2.5 hour time frame - I had to urinate 7 times. Was not experiencing any pain, just the urinatiing, now it is 12:50pm and the pain in the back and front is coming back, not as bad as last nigh, but it is here. Are these just gas pains? I just am confused because I havent really had anything to eat and have just drank water, for fear of making it worse any insight would be appreciated and anything you think I could do would also be appreciated. I am one of the lucky ones out there without insurance, so I am not one to go see the doctor, if I really don't need to.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
With the pain in abdomen and going to back along with frequency of urination can be most probably be due to Kisny or ureteric stone with or without infection.
Another possibility of aneurysm, pancreatitis and gastric ulcer too needs to be take into consideration as differential diagnosis.
Hence I would advise you the following:
You need a clinical evaluation and most importantly basic investigations of blood including liver and pancreas function, of urine and stool.
Ultrasonography of the whole abdomen particularly for genitourinary system.
Take a painkiller with antispasmodic properties like Dicyclomine to get some relief and further management as per the findings of the reports.
If there is stone or so, you may need a surgery.
If this is a medical cause you may need a long course of antibiotic if there is an urinary tract infection, get a PPI if acidity related problems and so on.
I find this answer helpful
