Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a lot of pain in my anus going to the bathroom. The doc said I didn't have hemmrhoids, now three weeks later with stool softener the whole time, it still hurts to go really bad. Now there is a yellow mucous discharge that comes out when I pass gas sometimes. What could it be?
Pain during passing stools may be due to fissure or haemorrhoids or fistula or colitis or pruritis ano etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Spicy food, alcohol, caffeinated drinks, lactose and gluten may aggravate the problem.
To avoid above and take high fibre diet, use tablet Normaxin twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please get it examined locally then get treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Penchila Prasad Kandikattu , Internal Medicine Specialist
