What Causes Pain In Bluish Mark On Skin?

A dog tried bit me on my lower calve about a year and a half ago. Although he didn t bite through the skin and I didn t bleed, there was really bad bruising. Now, after all this time, a smallish blue mark still remain and since yesterday it is hurting - almost like a fresh bruise. What can be the cause of this renewed discomfort?

Hi.
As per your case my advice is-
You may have developed a purpuric rash at site of bruise or there maybe a fresh irritaition at that site which lead to fresh bruise. There is less likely to have renewed lesion after one year.
Use a topical antibiotic cream like fusidic acid cream on that part. If it persists consult a dermatologist.

Thanks.
