Hello i am a 46 year old female ....went to emergency room day ofter having chest pains and both legs well up in the feet and ankle area...next morning woke up tired and still had righting in chest....stress test showed ejection faction 50-55%.......apical septal wall segment is hypo kinetic -score 2.......trace of aortic regurgitation and mitral regurgitation....had 2 strokes then a pfo closer then a nother stroke after after and grandmother both passed from congestive heart failure.....hospital discharged me after two days and said go see a cardiologist ......with no explanation ....please can someone explain....thankyou
Thanks for your question on HCM. Your symptoms favour impending heart failure because 1. Ejection fraction in stress test is 50%; which is low for normal. 2. Bilateral lower limb edema. This is due to poor heart pumping and thus back flow in the limbs. 3. You are having positive family hiatory and past strokes. So better to consult cardiologist and get done coronary angiography to rule out blockade. You may also need diuretic and blood thinner and cholesterol reducing drugs.
