What Causes Pain In Ear Of A 87 Year Old?

I am 87 years old.I have been having pain in my right ear, behind the ear and back of my head down my neck for a few weeks , but last night and all day today I have been really ill .Have thought all day about going to the emergency rroom .I am getting scared. which is very unusual for me . I have been pretty health. Also I am consapated a lot . Last night I took a large dose of lax. pills

Thanks for posting in HCM
Pain behind the ear and radiating to the neck and down the back is usually muscular in nature. It will be due to muscle spasms. generalized muscle spasms can be due to straining while passing stools also.
In consideration of your age, please consult a general physician for analgesics.
Local heat application also will help. Tylenol can be taken for pain relief.
