What Causes Pain In Ear ?

Hi..I was cleaning my ear with a qtip the other night and I slipped and felt a sharp pain in my ear. I immediately removed the qtip and there was no pain afterwards. The next day after I showered I noticed immediate pain in that ear and today the ear feels clogged and it hurts pretty bad. Do I need to go to a doctor? Or will this heal on its own?

Hi,
Inserting a foreign body into the ear can cause trauma to
1.canal
2.ear drum.
In any case, water entering the ear is a strict no no.
You should take care to avoid any infection during the healing period.
In your case I think infection started. Or another reason could be some blood clots caused by the injury clogging the ear.
It's important that you visit a sp and start on antibiotics and drops if needed.
