About one week ago, I was stabbed in the heel by a locust thorn. There is no sign of infection but my heel is painful when I put weight on it. I think it is possible that a bit of the thorn remains in my heel. Will it just dissolve or work its way out in time or do I need to have a doctor take a look at it?
Hello Thanks for posting at HCM. A retained part of the thorn can cause pain over the stabbed part. If you feel that a part of the thorn is remaining inside,it will be better to get it looked at and removed. But even if there is no retained part,a wound at the site of stabbing can cause pain when you are putting weight on the heel till it heals properly. Hope I have answered your query. If there is anything else,I would be happy to help. Regards Dr.Jayasree P, MD
