Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

First, get the x-ray of lower back and MRI of the lower back.

Yes, it could be a disc problem and can not be taken lightly.
avoid weight lifting, prolong standing as much as possible.

Do hot fomentation, apply any topical gel, take a muscle relaxant.

In maximum cases, it will resolve by doing above measures along with physiotherapy but some times it can be serious issues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopaedic Surgeon
