Hi, I am 54 years old and had breast cancer in 2005. I had chemo and radiation. I just started experiencing pain in my lower stomach and when I went to the restroom I had some blood. I am overweight. Is this normal? What could be causing this? I did go through the change with chemo and have not bleed since 2005.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Bleeding and pain in lower abdomen after chemoradiation can be due to changes in the vagina and uterus due to therapy, or can be due to some pathology in the genital tract including cancer. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated including ultrasound, pap smear and endometrial biopsy, if needed, and get appropriate treatment. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
