What Causes Pain In Lungs After Suffering From Bronchitis?
Hi there,I have recently had bronchitis and have finished a coarse of antibiotics.I am still very wheezy and when I cough I can feel a rattling deep in my lungs.today I have started to feel quite a sharp stabbing pain in my left lung..could I have phenomena?
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion we should rule out lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) first. Bronchitis can cause LRTI (pneumonia) as a complication. Since you are not improving rather worsening with symptoms of cough, wheezing, chest pain etc, pneumonia must be rule out in your case. Pneumonia causes pleurisy (inflammation of pleura). And this is the reason for sharp stabbing pain in pneumonia. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Clinical examination of respiratory system. 2. Chest x ray. Chest x ray is needed to rule out pneumonia. If chest x ray is normal then worsening of bronchitis is the cause for your chest pain. So start inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamines drugs.
