What Causes Pain In Middle And Lower Rib Cage On Taking Deep Breath?

Hi, My husband has sharp breath taking pain in his middle and lower right rib cage . worst pain if he bumps or is jarred at all. c-scan showed no broken ribs. he is told that he MIGHT have pulled something but we are worried because he has a fatty liver and has had colon cancer(sigmode) is there any thing to worry about this has gone on for around 1to2 months the ct scan was done with dye.

Since CT scan is normal, no need to worry for major lung disease.
Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely.
So tell him to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Avoid forward bending and sudden jerky movements of chest.
3. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest.
4. Sit with proper back support.
5. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs like ibuprofen and thiocolchicoside.
Don't worry, he will be alright with all these.
