What Causes Pain In Shoulder Blade While Standing?

I have very bad pain in my left shoulder blade for about 1 1/2 weeks. when I lay down it s not as bad, but seating or standing I m in pain. I ve tried the salonpas patch and have taken many extra strength aspirin but still have received no pain relief.

Pain in the shoulder blade on changing position is most probably suggestive of muscular pain.
Clinical assessment is required to know the exact nature of the pain.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus treatment.
Muscle relaxants are class of drugs which help to relieve the pain.
