What Causes Pain In Stomach And Below Ribs After Drinking Alcohol?

ive only just recently started going ouit drinking so its not llike ive had lots of alcohol in my stomach or anything.... but whenever i drink i get really bad stomach pains the next day (i dnt feel sick when i drink tho) th pains tend to be just below my ribs... just wondering if this is normal for a hangover? also i had an ulser when i wa younger and just wondering could these be linked?

alcohol is a pretty good solvent. It will tend to irritate the stomach lining. More of it, longer exposure, less food on stomach will tend to make it worse. Interacts BADLY with aspirin like drugs which prevent the production of protective secretions on the surface of the gut
