What Causes Pain In The Abdomen After Appendix Removal?
I'm a 28 year old female who had surgery to remove appendix a little over a year ago & recently I've been having pain in & around my belly button. Today I was showering & since I have a deep belly button I soaped up a finger to wash inside it. When I stuck my finge4 in I felt a horrible sharp pain as well as a lump on the right inside wall of my belly button & a few hour later inside & around it feels very feverish. Does fever mean infection? Could this be due to my surgery? Should I be worried or plan on going to the doctor? It's very painful to sit or bend over too
welcome to Health care magic. 1.The symptoms you have mentions more towards umbilical hernia ( anterior abdominal wall defect with presence of lump and infective inflammatory causes, and late findings can be strangulate) 2.Its nothing to do with your previous appendix surgery. 3.Yes you should be worries, take an appointment as soon as possible and get it examined. (an ultrasound scan might me needed ) 4.It might need surgery if its get proven as umbilical hernia.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
