What Causes Pain In The Ankles?

My 93 to Mother has probable poor circulation, woke up with pain and tenderness only to touch around the lateral ankle. No problem or pain with ambulation. A couple tiny red marks that could be a tiny spider bite, but no warmth or heat. Any thoughts? TY

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Tenderness on touch but not while walking could be probably due to inscet bite. Kindly give her analgesic medication like Ibuprofen twice daily after food. You can apply ice pack over the affected area. Also, you can give antihistamine medication like Loratidine once a day. Keep the foot end elevated while sleeping. Gradually, she should be back to normal. Hope the information provided helps.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
