The left side of my chest area "feels" like it is bruised internally, but I have not injured it; feels like a muscle ache. I can breath normal and fill my lungs without it hurting, but it hurts when you try cough, lay down on that side, bend over to do anything, or stand up from sitting. I have been coughing hard at times due to allergy issues for the last few weeks. It has been better and worst depending on the day for the last 4 weeks, but it is not going away. Not sure what is going on.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
With the history it suggests violent cause could have injured your muscle or the rib bone. it will not get relieved unless you get your primary issue being settled down that is cough.please meet pulmonologist for evaluation, get your blood check up complete blood count with peripheral smear to look for eosinophil count if related to the allergy. Chest x ray to look for any bony related issues or lung issues. These will help in sorting your problems.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
