Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My MRI report findings say: The ACL is ruptured There is associated bone contusion/undisplaced fracture across the posterior lateral tibial condyle. Doctor never mentioned anything about the fracture and I m waiting on surgery for the ACL reconstruction. What are the risks of further damage of this fracture in the meantime? I am walking normally but have pain on the outer side of the knee.
I can assure you that this fracture is not going to create any problem in your knee joint. I would suggest you to get ACL reconstruction as soon as possible. Once your ACL is repaired then your knee will be normal. This fracture is going to healed by its own. After ACL reconstruction you will need physiotherapy. It is very important that you will do quadriceps exercises. Also you will not allowed to run fast or jump for 9 months after this surgery.
