Hi,
If I were your treating Doctor for this case of
severe pain in the left calf, I would come up with these possibilities in my mind, these include:
1.The first possibility is of Calf
Muscle Strain. Diagnosis can be confirmed by taking any painkiller[ibuprofen+paracetamol]with any[ PPI] and give warm compression.
2.The second possibility is of
filariasis which can be ruled out by doing a blood differential count and check your eosinophilic % in blood.
3.The last possibility is of varicose vein- its diagnosis can be made by Inspection,palpation,percussion ,Trendelenburg test after confirmation clinically a Doppler imaging study is made to confirm the diagnosis.
4)By doing imaging study both [
Deep vein thrombosis and Peripheral Arterial Disease]can be ruled out.
I suggest you to consult a surgical specialist in your local area after all tests and
Ultrasound exam.
