What Causes Pain In The Left Elbow Radiating Toward The Forearm?

Hi, I am a 55 year old female. For the past 2 months I have had pain in my left elbow. Sometimes it radiates into my forearm, and sometimes my fingers go numb. At night if I sleep with it bent the pain will wake me up and will subside when I lay it straight.

Hello,

You may be suffering from either tennis elbow or some compression of nerves at your affected limb. You should do following to have relief from this:
- Check position of your neck and limb at night. It should be comfortable. The armpit, inner part of elbow and wrist should not be acutely bend or compressed.
- You may wear tennis elbow splint.
- Keep a rolled soft pillow under your neck during sleep.
- Get your self evaluated for cervical spondylosis, diabetes and high blood pressure.

I hope this will help in relieving your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mukesh Tiwari, Orthopedic Surgeon
