What Causes Pain In The Legs And Hip Area While On Diflucan And Atorvastatin?

I was recently on Diflucan and I also take Atorvastatin. I have developed muscle pain in my leg and hip area. My prescription for the Diflucan was 3 pills taken one every third day and my last one was taken 6 days ago. Is this a side effect of either medication and, if so, how long will I have the pain?

Hi & Welcome.
Atorvastatin induced myopathy.

Diflucan (Fluconazole) is an antifungal drug used to prevent and treat a variety of fungal infections. Its most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, headache or dizziness. It is unlikely to cause pain in the legs.

Atorvastatin is a cholesterol lowering medication.
Its most common side effects include stomach upset, myopathy (muscle pain, tenderness or weakness) and liver dysfunction.

So, based on the history given you seem to have developed muscle pain apparently caused by Atorvastatin.

I advise you to stop taking this medication and consult your treating doctor for an alternate effective but a safer cholesterol lowering medication.

Hope this will help you.

Best of your health.
