What Causes Pain In The Little Finger?

I have moderate pain on the inside of my little finger joint closest to my hand. It is tender to the touch. There has not been recent injury, but approximately 1 1/2 - 2 years ago a feral kitten bite me hard right where the pain is now. The puncture healed and there was no infection at the time of the bite. It just was very sore for a couple of weeks. Right now it doesn’t seem to be swollen, red or hot. It does hurt to move the joint.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Bite site pain may be due to minimal scar formation lead to neuroma formation of injured nerve lead to pain. Other possibilities like infection or gout may present like this. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. use tablet Tramadol and paracetamol twice a day for five days. Use physical therapy. if symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
