Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a partial hysterectomy and a prolapsed bladder and rectum repaired. Since the surgery I have been having pain in my tailbone. It seems to be getting worse. I have pain when sitting and getting up from a sitting position. What could this be from? Is there anything I could do for the pain?
I have studied your case. Buttock pain can sacral in origin which is in midline of buttock at end of tail bone. Post surgery fibrosis can lead to such pain. For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
Prolotherapy may work for sacral pain but for nerve root pain it may not. You can search prolotherapist.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.
