Hello, 3 weeks ago I fell on stairs in a shop. 2 days later after pain in my thumb increased I had it x-rayed - this showed no breakage. However, the pain in my thumb has increased - I can t put any pressure onto it - I can t open jars, use can opener etc. If i spread my fingers out and attempt to spread my thumb its very painful. No sure to go back and have a second opinion
Dear Sir/Madam, Thanks for seeking help on your issue; I have gone through your symptoms, and in my opinion, you have injured the medial collateral ligament of your thumb and it can rupture without any fracture, you will need stressx ray views and clinical examination by a Hand Surgeon for proper treatment, do not neglect this as it may become a nuisance in the future. I hope I have been able to provide you with a satisfactory solution, if you want to clear any doubts about my opinion, feel free to contact. Special note- Any medication prescribed needs to be taken after consultation with your personal doctor only. Thanks Dr. Narender Saini
