What Causes Pain In Upper Abdomen During The End Of Pregnancy?
I'm 36 weeks pregnant, and am having pain in my upper abdomen. The pain is right under the center part of my ribs , under the lower section of the center of my breasts. I get sharp pains, and any other time it is very soar. I have my next appointment in 3 days. Can I safely wait until then to address this with my OB?
Hi ! good evening. i am Dr Shareef answering your query.
The pain could be due to intermittent premature uterine contractions or it could be due to a gastritis, or a co existent gall stones. For this you have to get yourself reviewed by your treating doctor along with a fresh ultrasound of the abdomen. As this can not be known without a physical examination, I would suggest you to consult your doctor at the earliest opportunity if possible.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
