What Causes Pain In Upper Right Side Of Abdomen?

I ve been having an odd pain in upper right abdomen for about a month now went to ER with pins and needle sensations in fingers and toes which really freaked me out, ultrasound blood work chest xray all normal, since then I ve been feeling very anxious think I m dying of a terminal illness, now experiencing heat in chest and all over my back which comes and goes. I m a 46 year old female smoker trying desperately to quit. What s going on any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Mary

hi,
pain in the right upper quadrant may be of many causes as you already said the investigations like usg abdomen ,blood and chest x ray all are normal.
As you give history of smoking then you are probably having some erosions or ulcers in the stomach for that you need to quit smoking as early as possible and you can go to your doctor ,he may prescribe a coarse of proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole 40 mg ,take it for a couple of days in empty stomach. Also little of diet modification like less spicy food, eating and sleeping habits should be proper.
Hope this information help you
thank you
