General & Family Physician, Dr. Amarnath's Response
welcome to hcm, Nothing to worry gentleman, everything will be alright. first you had a complete rest for 3 months now you cannot expect to lift up the same weights you lifted before. have a warm up session before starting your weight lifting. start from very less weights. don't increase all of a sudden. pain is better managed by applying NSAID gels external application. i don't recommend you for a oral NSAID pain relievers
if you have still pain there is a chance of ligament tear. if you too feel so take a MRI. ligament injury is best seen in MRI scan. review with the MRI results hope this explains Dr.Amarnath
