What Causes Pain, Numbness, Pressure With Rectal Bleeding During Bowel Movements?

My other half is haveing a problem when going the toilet for a poo.He gets very sharp pain when going and it feels numb and a lot of pressure , it has been comeing and going now for the last few mouths but he will not go doctors at all. it sometimes bleed but not all the time, he does try and stop him self from going because the pain is that bad, and its getting worse. what is it ???

The given history could be due to constipation and in that case it is better not to exert the force else it may cause great pain and discomfort. Stool softener can be tried, if this fails to work then better to see the doctor. If this is not constipation, then it can be intestinal pathologies particular of colon for which clinical examination and investigations are must. Here very little history is provided due to which nothing more can be advised.
