What Causes Pain On Left Side Of Face When Yawning?

I have a pain on the left side of my face. When I yawn, or when I chew it starts to hurt. It feels like it's between my ear and my mouth. Nothing hurts inside my actual mouth. But when I open my mouth wide there is a sharp pain. This just started last night. Any help?

hello thanx for queiry.it could be due to tmj problems.get x-rays done ...tmj views and advanced imaging like ct scan.you may also need occlusal analysis and bite guard or splint may be needed.you please consult tmj clinic or oral medicine specialist.hope it helps.take care.
