What Causes Pain On Left Side Radiating To Back With Urge To Defecate?

Until about 2-3 months ago I had long round stools. First there was aching on the left side that radiates now to my back and then my stools became flat and frequent with an urge to go that was not satisfied by going. The pain worsened and now I hardly go at all. An ultrasound ordered by our family doctor showed nothing. A ct scan only showed that I had an excessive amount of stool for which the dr suggested magnesium citrate. I got out loads if water but little stool. The dr suggested another mag cit and I got out even less stool and very little water...pls advise

Hello thanks for putting your your query in hcm. Since the ct scan showed only bowel overloaded with stool there is nothing to worry. I will suggest you as magnesium citrate is of no help to take polyethylene glycol. I found it very useful in my patients with bowel full of stool. Also take high fibre fibre diet and lots of fluid. I hope I have answered your query and this will help you.
